We all use Google for searching information that we want to know. Google provides us links of webpages that contains the information that we are looking after. If you own a blog then you might be doing everything possible to get more visits to your blog. To get traffics from search engines your blog must be indexed in the respective search engines. Your blog will be indexed in search engine only when you have submitted your blog to that search engine.


Today I am going to show you how you can submit your Blogger blog to the giant search Engine - Google. Google is the most popular search engine and number of webpages indexed by Google is uncountable. To make Google find, index and rank your site you need to submit your sitemap of your site to Google Webmaster Tools. Google Webmaster is a good SEO tool to use. You could also keep track of your sites statistics with the help of Google Webmaster Tools. As a new blogger you may not know how to submit your blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. Here I am to help you.

Steps To Submit Blogger Sitemap To Google Webmaster:-

1) Go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/

2) Sign in to Webmaster Tools with your gmail id and password



3) You can see now a thumbnail and a link of your site. Click on the anyone of them to go to Dashboard of Webmaster Tools.



4) Click on Sitemaps


5) Click on ADD/TEST SITEMAP

Use http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500 as your blogger sitemap

where red section is the name of your blog

Copy and paste the blue section of your sitemap in the space provided.


6) Click on Submit Sitemap and refresh the page

Your webpages are submitted and waiting to be indexed.

When you login to your Google Webmaster some days later, you should be able to see the indexed pages and statistics of your blogger. Hope this helped you.

Submitting your Blogger blog to search engines will always gonna help your webpages reputation in search engine. Earlier I wrote about how to submit your blogger to Google webmaster. Submit your sitemap to Bing and Yahoo to index your pages in their search engines. Yahoo Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Hence submitting your sitemap to Bing webmaster will also index your pages in Yahoo search engine.






1--> Login to Bing Webmaster with your Hotmail account. If you dont have an account then signup for an account.




2--> Enter your blogger blog URL in Add a Site box and click on Add.



3--> Enter sitemap as http://your-blog-name.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default






5--> Now you are given 3 options to verify your site.

•     Option 1: Place an XML file on your web server
•     Option 2: Copy and paste a <meta> tag in your default webpage
•     Option 3: Add CNAME record to DNS

Choose Option 2: Copy and paste a <meta> tag in your default webpage.



6--> Go to your blogger Admin page > Template > Edit HTML.

Ctrl + F and find </head> and paste the <meta> tag above/before it. Click on Save Template

7--> Click on Verify and your site is verified. It will take some days to indexed your site's URLs

Technorati is a search engine for searching blogs. It will be a big boost to you if you submit your blog to technorati. It will be a great step towards SEO and will definitely increase your blog rank.





1) Go to technorati.com and complete sign-up process.

2) They will send you an email with an activation link. Sign in to your email account and click the link in that email to activate your account.



3) Your account is activated and now you sign in to your technorati account.



4) Click on your member name present at the right-top position to go to your profile



5) Edit your profile.

6) Now start the process of claiming your blog.

In "Start a blog claim" section, enter your blog's URL and click on Claim button



7) Enter the details and click on the "Proceed to the next step" button

8) It will show up like following screenshot:-



9) They will send you a email with subject "Technorati Claim in progress [Update]"
 and your message goes like this:

This is an automatically-generated email.
Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Technorati will need to verify that you are an author of the site http://blogtipsandtricks4u.blogspot.com/ by looking for a unique code. We have just assigned the claim token U48GZA2MJY5Z to this claim. Please visit http://technorati.com/account/ for more details, including how to use the claim token.

10) Put the claim token code within a new blog post and publish it.

11) Now go to your technorati profile and click on "Check Claim" button .

12) Click on Verify Claim Token


13) They will now evaluate your claim


 14) Refresh the page and you will see following message:

We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting final review. You may now remove the claim token from your feed. 


 15) After reviewing for final time, they will approve your blog.
 

Every blogger wants more and more visitors to their blogs. Only excellent writing would not draw you mass visitors to your blog. You need to promote your blog too to get more traffics to your blog. Also it depends a lot on your blog outlook and design. But above all the blog content is the main factor that will draw you large traffics to your blog. 1) Choose Your Words Wisely (SEO)

Choose keywords in your article very wisely. Keywords in your article matters a lot in SEO.  Use any SEO keyword research tool.

 

2) Put your blog URL in your email signature

Adding your blog URL as email signature is very intelligent idea.

 

3) Keep your blog Simple and Eye-catching.

Don't try to make your blog design too complicated. This may lead your visitors getting confused and they will never ever visit your blog again.

 

4) Write quality content

You should always focus on writing quality content. Always Keep in your mind that "Content is the King".

Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is very important if you want to achieve your links of your website higher in the search results in all top search engine websites. Recently Blogger introduced a new feature that will help you in adding meta tag in your blog very easily. In my previous post I talked about how you can add meta tag in your HTML section. We can even include meta description for every single post with the help of this new feature. Now Blogger has Wordpress like feature for using meta tags.





This tutorial will help you to add meta tags description to blogger without editing your HTML code. This is a good SEO technique. So try this in your blogger blog.  If you don't know the procedure to follow then read the steps given below. I am giving you the step by step procedure just for the sake of helping you.  

Steps To Add Meta Tags Description To Blogger Without Editing HTML code

1) Log in to your blogger account.

2) Go to Blogger Admin>Settings>Search Settings

3) Under Meta tags Description option, click on edit and choose Yes to Enable search description and write description of your blog in not more 150 characters. Fill the column with perfect description of your blog..





4) Click on Save changes

5) Now when you make a Post, you can set the Meta Description from the Post Editor’s

Your post will appear in search engines according to what you have filled in the Search Description column.  So fill up this column very wisely so that more visitors gets attracted to your blog.

7) Replace the red lines with the parameters.

8) Click on Save Template and you just added meta tags in your html code of your Blogger.
