LG G Pad II 8.0 with a stylus and full-sized USB port goes official
LG has silently launched the G Pad II 8.0 tablet in South Korea. The tablet comes equipped with a full-sized USB 2.0 port, which allows you to connect external keyboards, mouse and flash drives without the need of an adapter. The tablet also has an embedded capacitive stylus.
The LG G Pad II 8.0 features 8-inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside there is an 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor aided by Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android Lollipop For imaging there is a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. A 4200mAh battery fuels the tablet. It comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint) as well as enhanced Quick Memo app, Knock Code and Qpair.
The LG G Pad II 8.0 will be available in 3G and LTE variant. There are no details on pricing and availability.
Micromax Canvas Tab P680 with dual box speakers launched for Rs. 9,499
Micromax launched its latest tablet, the Canvas Tab P680 in India. It features dual rear box speakers with an aluminum film diphragm. The tablet supports 3G connectivity and comes with dual SIM support (regular SIM + Micro SIM) with voice calling capabilities.
Micromax Canvas Tab P680 features 8-inch WXDA (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with anti-glare coating for better viewing under sunlight. Inside there is an 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and apart from 3G supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. Camerawise, it sports 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is fueled by 4000mAh battery and comes in black and metallic copper color.

Alcatel OneTouch has forayed into the Indian tablet market with the launch of Pop 8S tablet with 4G LTE. This is the company's first tablet for the Indian market. It was initially announced at IFA last year.
The tablet also becomes the cheapest 4G LTE tablet in the country. There is also support for voice calling

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab A with S Pen support
Samsung has quietly listed a new mid-range tablet, Galaxy Tab A Plus with S Pen support on its France-Belgium website. The tablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top.
Usually, the S Pen comes with Samsung's premium devices with Note branding, Galaxy Tab A Plus is the company's first non-premium device to feature S Pen.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A Plus features 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) LCD display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Ziilabs ZMS-08 processor paired with 2GB RAM. LG G Pad II 10.1 with Snapdragon 800 SoC announced
Earlier this month LG announced the G Pad II 8.0 tablet in South Korea. Now the company has announced the successor to the G Pad 10.1, the G Pad II 10.1. The tablet will be showcased at IFA 2015, Berlin next month (September 4 to 9). It has a soft metallic finish, is 7.8mm thick and comes in WiFi only and LTE models.
LG says that it has the slimmest bezel among similar tablet with 10-inch screen. The tablet comes with Read Mode, which while reading ebooks reduces the blue light of the display backlight. There is a Dual Windows mode that divides the screen allowing two apps to run at a time. Also there is Quick Memo+ which allows users to create, save and share memos from any screen. Additionally that tablet comes pre-loaded with Microsoft office suite off apps and 100GB of free OneDrive storage for two years.
As for the specs, the LG G Pad II 10.1 features 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display and is powered by 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (microSD card slot present). It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. Camerawise, it sports 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is fueled by 7400mAh battery.
The LG G Pad II 10.1 will roll out in Key markets in North America, Europe and Asia starting from September. Pricing will be announced locally during the launch.
Dell Latitude 12 Rugged tablet is built to withstand harsh environments
Dell has announced the new Latitude 12 Rugged tablet, the company's first fully rugged tablet designed for performance and reliability in harshest conditions. The tablet can survive water spills, sand and dust, drops from over 4 feet and extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit It is targeted at military, first responders, scientists, adventurers and industrial workers.
Dell's Latitude 12 Rugged tablet sports 11.6 inch Direct-View outdoor-readable display with a resolution of 1366x768 and gloved-enabled multi-touch capabilities. It is powered by fifth gen Intel Core M processor. Other features include up to 512GB SSD, Wi-Fi ac, built-in GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, optional cellular connectivity and 12-hour battery life. It include Intel vPro and Intel TPM 1.2 for data and device security. It runs Windows 8.1. There’s optional support for 4G LTE, and the tablet has USB 3.0, micro HDMI, microSD card, and built-in micro serial ports.
The tablet has a durable pogo-pin docking interface including desk dock, vehicle dock and keyboard. It also comes with a optional keyboard with RGB backlight and IP65 rating to protect against dust and water.
The Dell Latitude 12 Rugged tablet will be available in the U.S by end of July. Pricing will be announced at the time of launch.
Asus ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8 tablets launched in India
Asus at its ZenFestival event in India launched the ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8 tablets. Both were initially announced at Computex, Teipei back in June. Asus will launch the 4G LTE version of these tablet in the country with voice calling capabilities.
Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370C) features 7-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor paired with Mali-450 MP4 GPU. It comes with 1GB or 2GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB internal storage (microSD card supported). It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on top. Camera features include 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and GPS/A-GPS. It is fuelled by 13Wh battery and comes in Black, White and Aurora Metallic colors.

Toshiba has announced two new tablets, one designed for business uses, the Encore 10, the other Encore 10K, a premium 2-in-1 tablet ideal for school. Both are basically twins, the difference being that Encore 10K comes with a keyboard dock, that also functions as an extra battery. They will be available with Windows 10 or Windows 10 professional.
Toshiba Encore 10 and Encore 10K features 10.1-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by an quad-core Intex Atom X5 processor paired with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. Archos Diamond Tab with 7.9-inch display announced
French brand, Archos has a slew of products to show off at this years IFA trade show in Berlin, Archos 50 Cesium Windows 10 phone and Archos Diamond S, 50e Helium Android phones and Archos Flip, a convertible notebook.
Now the company has introduced a new tablet, Diamond Tab. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and 4G connectivity with voice calling capabilities.
Archos Diamond S features 7.9-inch QXGA (2048 x 1536 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8752 64-bit processor with Mali T760 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card.
For imaging there is 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calling. Besides 4G LTE, it also supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Fueling the tablet is a 4800mAh battery.
Priced at £179( US$ 275 | Rs. 18,250), Archos Diamond Tab will be available through Archos webstore in October. The tablet will also be showcased at IFA trade show in Berlin.
Jolla Tablet goes up for pre order, will ship to India
Jolla is a Finland based company formed by ex-Nokia employees. The first product was a smartphone that was launched in 2013. Later the company announced their plans to launch a tablet. Being a small company with limited budget, they went to crowdfunding website Indiegogo to get funding for the tablet. At the website, the aim was to collect $380,000 (Rs. 2.5 crores). It took just 2 hours to reach the said target and within 48 hours the funding reached $1 million.
That being said, Jolla has now started taking pre-orders for the Jolla tablet in select markets including India. Jolla's tablet runs the company's proprietary Sailfish OS that is heavily based on gestures. The tablet should be compatible with Android apps as well.
Inside there is a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB/64GB expandable storage. It sports 7.85-inch QXGA (2048 x 1536) display at 330 ppi. For imaging there is 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. It supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity, fueling the tablet is a 4450mAh battery. It runs Sailfish OS 2.0.
Jolla is ready to ship the tablet to India, U.S, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Norway, Switzerland and all EU countries.
The 32GB model of the tablet costs EUR 267 (Rs. 19,990) and the 64GB model is priced at EUR 299 (Rs.22,000). It is up for pre-orders directly from the company's website and the first batch will start shipping in late October.

Acer One 10 is a 10.1-inch 2-in-1 Windows tablet for $200
Acer has launched its most affordable Windows 2-in-1 tablet to date, the Acer One 10. It comes with a keyboard dock that allows the tablet to be used in different modes- laptop, tent and display.
Acer One 10 features 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. Inside there is an 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3735F processor with Intel HD graphics and 2GB RAM. Arbor Solution has announced a new fully rugged Windows tablet, the Gladius G1052C. The tablet is upgradable to Windows 10, though it supports Windows Embedded 7, Windows 7 Professional, Windows Embedded Standard 8.0, Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro, and Windows 8.1 Professional.
Arbor Solution's Gladius G1052C meets MIL-STD-810G military standards, has IP54 dust and water resistance rating and four-foot drop resistance. It can be operated in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 113°F, meaning it can be operated in harsh environments. The tablet has 23-key physical keypad that includes four programmable function buttons for rapid manual data entry.

InFocus unveils a 2-in-1 hybrid tablet, will release in India later this year
US-based InFocus expanded its Android smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of InFocus M370, M550 3D, M808, and M812. In addition, the company also unveiled a 2-in-1 hybrid tablet, which has no name yet. It has a detachable magnetic keyboard that allows it to be used as a laptop.
The 2-in-1 hybrid tablet comes with 10.6-inch Full HD display and is powered by 1.11GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor further aided by 2GB DDR3 RAM. On-board storage is 32GB. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat based Remix OS and is expected to boot Windows also. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. It is fueled by a beefy 8000mAh battery that is non removable, measures 8.8mm around the waist and weighs 550g.
The pricing and availability details of the InFocus 2-in-1 tablet will be revealed later this year.
