OnePlus 2 will be '2016 Flagship Killer'
OnePlus launched the OnePlus One with premium specs at a low price in April last year and called it as the "2014 flagship killer"
Now, OnePlus has branded the OnePlus 2 as the "2016 flagship killer". This means that the OnePlus are confident about the OnePlus 2 and believes that it will be better than the flagships launching in 2016.
OnePlus on its Facebook and Twiiter handle thanked partners who worked with the company to make the OnePlus 2 possibble. The post read "The wait is almost over. Thank you to all of our partners who helped make the #OnePlus2 possible! Together, we've created the 2016 Flagship Killer."
The post was accompanied by an image with names of the partner companies which inlcudes Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Samsung, Japan Display Inc, Ricoh, Toshiba and Everlight among others.
OnePlus has confirmed some of the specs of OnePlus 2 including Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 3300mAh battery, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor and Dual-SIM. It runs Oxygen OS and is said to be priced $450 ( Rs. 29,000).
The company also revealed that OnePlus 2 would get a new and improved invite system and will have more launch inventory than last time (30 to 50x more).In addition, there will be different versions for Europe/Asia, North America and China versions with “much better band support than last time.” The device will also get multiple StyleSwap back covers to customize its look.

OnePlus CEO Pet Lau announced on Weibo that the OnePlus 2 will have dual-SIM slots with dual standby, which OnePlus One lacked. In addition, OnePlus will introduce new invite system to sell the OnePlus 2.
The dual-SIM support opens up a possibility that the OnePlus 2 will have a microSD card, again which the OnePlus One lacks. Since we have seen several mobile products with hybrid SIM support that lets the second SIM slot double up as a microSD card slot when required. However, Users will not be able to take advantage of extended storage and dual-SIM at the same time.
OnePlus also announced that they will introduce a new invite system for the OnePlus 2. They will introduce physical cards that can be used as invites to purchase the OnePlus 2. OnePlus will have more invites on offer and will have 30-50x more inventory than last time. The company will also introduce Reservation list, which will allow interested buyers to sign via email. However, these invites will be first available for users who are active in OnePlus forums. Plus users will get sharable invites after buying the device.

OnePlus has released the first software update for OnePlus 2. The device is getting Oxygen OS 2.0.1 update which comes with several improvement and fixes including a patch for Stagefright security exploit.

OnePlus 2 goes on sale today for those who have an invite
The wait is over. The highly awaited smartphone of the year, OnePlus 2 will go on sale today outside China for those who have an invite. The phone will be available for purchase in Europe, North America and in India. Till date, over 3.5 million people have signed up for the reservation list.
OnePlus 2 will go on sale in India via Amazon starting 4pm today. Users with India-specific invites will be able to buy the OnePlus 2 on Amazon India after claiming them from OnePlus site. The first batch of invites will start rolling out today itself. Announcing the availability in a blog post, OnePlus said India is "one of the first markets to launch the OnePlus 2."
Notably, the 64GB variant of the OnePlus 2 will be made available in India at first, with the 16GB model coming later this year. The OnePlus 2 64GB costs 24,999 and the 16GB model costs 22,999.
While in North America the OnePlus 2 will not be released today because the company is facing delays due to "production schedules". However US and Canada users will be able to claim their invites and can purchase the OnePlus 2 from Tuesday, but the actual shipment of the smartphones are delayed. It will commence 2-3 weeks after shipments to Europe.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Although some fans may be disappointed to hear this news, we would rather be transparent about the situation." said OnePlus in its forum post.

OnePlus has outed the OnePlus 2 pricing list of 12 countries. OnePlus CEO has delivered on his promise outing the OnePlus 2 under $400. The 16GB model is priced at $329 and the 64GB model is priced at $389.

OnePlus 2 VR launch app goes live, Invite registration opens
OnePlus will announce the OnePlus 2 on July 27 at 7:00pm PT (July 28 7:30am IST) in a world's first Virtual Reality launch. For this, the brand has also introduced its own VR Cardboard headset to experience the immersive affair.
Now, OnePlus has released the OnePlus 2 Launch VR app on Google Play Store. The app will be used to live stream the OnePlus 2 launch event.
Notably, in case if you weren't able to grab OnePlus's VR headset, the brand is promising that the app will let you witness the launch event without the Cardboard. Unfortunately you will miss out on the visual effects. OnePlus also prompts you to use headphones for the best experience.

Last year, OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone startup made a name for itself with its first device touted as the flagship killer, the OnePlus One. Now, OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus 2 to the world finally via a VR launch experience, which is world's first.
The OnePlus 2 is exactly what the brand had promised. It sports a metal frame fashioned out of lightweight aluminum alloy. There is a fingerprint scanner integrated into the physical home button, and can store up to five fingerprints. On the side there is a hardware sliding switch dubbed 'Alert Slider' that offers quick switching between notification settings. Also on offer is a reversible USB Type-C port and removable back cover with optional style swap covers in Kevlar, bamboo, rosewood and black apricot.
OnePlus 2 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS In-Cell display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside there is an Octa-core Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB DDR4 RAM. On-board storage is 64GB. There is also a 16GB storage variant that packs 3GB LPPDR4 RAM.
Software-wise, the OnePlus 2 runs OxygenOS, the brand’s own custom ROM which uses Android Lollipop v5.1 as base. It includes the ability to set app permissions, there is a new camera app with super resolution mode, time lapse and slow motion. Also offered is SwiftKey Keyboard, off screen gestures, option for on-screen navigation keys, audio tuner, file manager, option to adjust icon grid size, personalize LED indicator, choice of Dark UI mode and ability to select accents. OnePlus says it has made subtle changes that add value to the user experience.
Camerwise it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, Laser Auto focus, OIS, 1.3um pixels, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording capabilities. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter for taking selfies. Connectivity features include dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by 3300mAh battery. The OnePlus 2 measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.85mm, weighs 175g and comes in Sandstone Black color.

The photos show a oval shaped home button below the display, which is likely to have finger print sensor, confirming what the company revealed earlier. There is an auto laser focus for the rear camera, earlier seen in LG G4, along with dual-tone flash.
As per TENAA listing the OnePlus 2 features 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. Under the hood there is Snapdragon 810 with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 430 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and on-board storage is 32GB. Camerawise it sports 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front shooter for taking selfies and handle video chats. It is backed by 3300mAh battery. It supports Type-C USB port, 4G LTE connectivity, has dual-SIM slot and sports a metal build. Most of the specs listed by TENAA is in line with what OnePlus have revealed so far about the OnePlus 2. The OnePlus will be priced around $450.

We are just a few moments away from the launch of one of the most highly anticipated device of 2015, the OnePlus 2. Now ahead of its unveiling hands-on shots of the OnePlus 2 have surfaced online.
The device in the image coincides with TENAA listing and shows the OnePlus 2 from all the angles that includes a metal frame and removable back cover with Sandstone Black finish. Inside there is that has a SIM tray with dual SIM support and a battery that is not removable. Also seen is the fingerprint scanner on the home button, USB Type-C port and rear mounted speakers. On the right there is the power and volume keys and on the left there is the lock/unlock button. The rear camera has a dual-LED flash and laser auto-focus sensor. According to the leakster, the device runs an early version of Oxygen OS.

It will be smaller and more compact than the OnePlus 2 and is likely to have a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, dual LED flash and laser auto focus. Also onboard is a fingerprint sensor that will be faster than Apple's touch ID, USB Type-C port, Dual-SIM and Oxygen OS. OnePlus calls it the 2016 flagship killer and says that the device will come with features that won't be available on other devices until Android M. The OnePlus 2 will be priced around $450.
