Facebook Offers Rs. 50 Talktime For New Users

Recently Facebook touched 1 billion users. Yeah thats a great achievement for them. But if you are thinking that 1 billion is enough for Facebook, then you are wrong. Facebook is aiming much more than 1 billion. Most of the Facebook users are from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico and the United States. India is currently the second largest country as far as Facebook users is concerned. If you are from India then you can even get a recharge of Rs 50 via Facebook. I am talking about a new scheme that Facebook has launched for its Indian users. This scheme is for only mobile users in India.

So how will you get recharge of Rs 50 from Facebook?

Any new user in India will get recharge package of Rs 50 upon registering on Facebook via mobile. For this purpose Facebook is providing a special link:- http://m.facebook.com/tt. New users need to join Facebook via this special link only to avail a recharge of Rs 50. You dont need any email address for registering. You have to give your phone number only where you want the free talktime to be recharged. Once you sign up and confirm your account, you will receive the talktime within 3 days. If you don't receive the talktime within 3 days, email talktime@fb.com .

For registering only you are getting a talktime of Rs 50. This is not ending here only, you will get another Rs 50 talktime if you refer a friend. Wow!. Thats unbelievable.

Currently Facebook has around 50 million users from India only. It will definitely increase a large number of new Facebook users from India. To how much Facebook achieves, we will get that in near future. It will be interesting to see whether other social networking sites come up with new schemes or not.

The main drawback of this new scheme is that this will lead to increase in number of fake profiles. According to the Facebook's quarterly report, about 83 million Facebook accounts are fakes.

So whats your opinion for this new Facebook scheme???
